EMI Internship

First Blog:

I am pretty excited to begin this blog...
In case you are wondering, Mattzger is a nickname I earned to distinguish Sam and Me who are both sometimes called Metzger.

I wanted to keep all my friends and family who are supporting me in any way updated on how things are going in my life both in preparing to leave and once I am in Uganda.

This is the team of interns that will be heading to Kampala this spring:

Megan Suau
Rachel Des Cognets
Brittany Coulbert
Josh Canez
Travis Greiman
Matt Metzger

As a team, we are asking God for these things:
- that the cross would be at the center of our lives.
- that we would focus
- that we would have good health
- that we would get along, work well together, encourage and support one another
- that our ministry partners in Uganda would be blessed
- that we would be kept safe
- that we would continuously respond to God's call

As of now, I have received 28% of the support needed to get me to Uganda and back. It is coming in slowly but surely, and I am learning to trust God who wants to give me good gifts:

Matthew 7:9-12
"There isn't a person among you who would give his son a stone if he asked for bread, is there?
Or if he asks for a fish, he wouldn't give him a snake, would he?
So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who keep on asking him!
Therefore, whatever you want people to do for you, do the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

Thanks for your interest, and I will try to keep everyone updated!

PS:
Please pray for my relationship with Cristal, also, that we would reflect Christ to our friends and the world in the way we relate with each other. Cristal came to the Metzger house this weekend, and we had a great time cutting down a Christmas tree and going to Dollywood.
